Michter Triplets

The upstart (l), the middle brother (c), and a (as far as I know) fairly rare presence of an unopened, original bottle (r).

A.H. Hirsch 16-year is one of my favorite bourbons, and I’m glad to have several bottles (c) stashed away. My gold-label, blue wax sealed bottle will be cracked for a yet-to-be-determined special occasion (I polished off my bottle of 20-year A.H. Hirsch when my father died). The new Michter’s label is okay bourbon, a bit fiery, and not as subtle and flavorful as the older bourbons (and, in truth, other than the name, the new distillery has nothing to do with the old).

Anyway, I’ve got my daily tasks done, so now it’s sampling and rating beer on the BeerAdvocate web site and nipping at the new Michter’s and watch the brewing and distilling shows now playing on the History Channel’s "Modern Marvels" series.
