Glenfiddich – Solera Vat – 15 year old

Av Gareth Harper
"Solera VAT narries whiskies matured in three types of oak cask, sherry bourbon and new oak.
The Solera VAT is always kept at least half full." So it says on the bottle.

Laid back nose of sherry grape and oak.

Taste – Smooth, delicate and refined. Sherry, sultanas, Christmas cake, a touch of honey mixed with almonds and vanilla. Short finish.
Water brings out the wood with a touch of leather. Makes me think of Cognac.
Fine easy drinking. Classy in a gentle way, not really my thing as it’s all too easy going, but it’s a good enjoyable dram and you might just rather like it.
