This model of a Scotch malt whisky distillery was designed by James Risk, Scottish Malt Distiller’s General Works Manager, assisted by George Cruikshank of Linlithgow Distillery. It was first exhibited at the british Empire Exhibition, Wembley in 1924-25, then it was lent to the Science Museum, London where it was displayed from 1926-48. Sunsequently it lay in pieces until 1963, when it was discovered by the then manager of Glenkinchie Distillery, Mr Alastair Munro, and painstakenly rebuilt it to its present condition.
