Hiram Walker (1816 – 1899). Born in Douglas, Massachusetts, he was a grocer whom in 1858, founded the Walker Distillery in Walkerville, Canada. He began selling his whiskey as Hiram Walker’s Club Whiskey which established and maintained the company town that sprang up around his distillery. Hiram Walker products which include the classic whiskey and a diverse line of premium liqueurs made with all-natural flavors for real fruits, continue in worldwide distribution to this day. He was also a successful cattle breeder.
